Safety Recall Y79 Occupant Restraint Controller

This recall affects approximately 102,837 vehicles with incorrect software version in the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC), which may disable deployment of airbags and knee airbags in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury to occupants.

Repair Procedure

The ORC module must be reprogrammed with new software using the wiTECH Mopar Diagnostic Pod (MDP) and a laptop computer with wiTECH software.

The procedure involves reprogramming the ORC module, checking for diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), and performing an EPS reset procedure.
