Introduction
This document is a petition for inconsequential noncompliance with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 110, “Tire Selection and Rims”, regarding the certification label on approximately 8,773 model year 2020 Kia Telluride vehicles.
Background
The affected vehicles are equipped with 7.5J x 20 or 7.5J x 18 wheel rims, but the Part 567 certification labels are missing the rim size value and contain a minor typo.
Corrective Action
Corrected certification labels were introduced into production on March 25, 2019, and all future production vehicles will comply with FMVSS 110 S4.3.3.
Safety Risk
The noncompliance is considered inconsequential to motor vehicle safety, as the information is readily available from other sources, including the FMVSS 110 tire and loading label, the Owner’s Manual, and the installed wheels.
