Safety Recall Campaign
This bulletin provides the procedure to rewire the floor wiring harness on 2020MY Telluride (ON) vehicles equipped with Smart Cruise Control (SCC) produced from January 9, 2019 through July 21, 2020.
The recall is due to the trailer brake lights not illuminating when the SCC independently brakes to decelerate the vehicle, failing to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 108.
Repair Procedure
The procedure involves rewiring the Floor Harness, including disconnecting the battery negative (-) cable, removing the cowl side trim, and reconnecting the FF12 connector.
Dealers are to rewire the Floor Harness on the affected vehicles, whether they currently have the tow hitch PIO installed or not.
