Situation and Cause
The fuel filler door (aka flap) will not open due to a rare condition where the vehicle is locked using the remote control key and the fuel filler door is pushed closed simultaneously, causing the fuel door to enter a locked state that cannot be unlocked.
Correction and Procedure
Attempt to unlock the fuel door by pressing the “unlock” button of the remote key while simultaneously pressing on the rear of the fuel filler door. If not possible, replace the fuel cover pot following ISTA repair instructions.
