About the C-HR Hybrid
The Toyota C-HR Hybrid is a 5-door hatchback that combines a gasoline engine and an electric motor for power, known as Hybrid Synergy Drive.
The vehicle has two power sources: gasoline stored in the fuel tank and electricity stored in a high voltage Hybrid Vehicle (HV) battery pack.
The combination of these two power sources improves fuel economy and reduces emissions.
Operating Modes
Different driving modes use one or both power sources:
- Light acceleration at low speeds: electric motor only
- Normal driving: mainly gasoline engine
- Full acceleration: both gasoline engine and electric motor
- Deceleration: regenerates kinetic energy to recharge battery pack
- Stopping: gasoline engine and electric motor off, but vehicle remains on
This manual provides guidelines for safe handling and dismantling of Toyota C-HR Hybrid vehicles, including high voltage electrical system features and specifications.
