Trailer Hitch Installation
Ensure all recyclable components and packaging are recycled according to local regulations. It is recommended to install the accessory by a qualified Subaru technician. Disconnect the negative battery terminal and safely store any removed vehicle components.
Tools Required
A variety of tools are required, including torque wrenches, sockets, pliers, screwdrivers, and more. Tools are listed and described on page 2 of the manual.
Removal of Rear Panel and Lower Spare Tire
Raise and remove the carpeted rear floorboard, then remove the square panel and rubber grommet to access the spare tire winch. Use the spare tire wrench to lower the spare tire to the ground.
Removal of Rear Bumper Fascia
Remove the rear tail light cover, then remove two clips per side from the inside of the tail light cover. Replace the clips with new ones and slide them in until fully seated.
