Applicability

This service tip applies to various 2016-2019 Lexus models, including RC F, RC350, ES300H, ES350, RX450H, GS350, IS350, IS200T, GS450H, LS500, NX300H, GS F, RC300, NX300, IS300, RX350, LS500H, and LX570.

Condition

The service tip is intended to support target placement for Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) and Lane Departure System (LSS) calibration in conjunction with the Repair Manual.

Recommendations

The service tip provides three methods for creating a centerline marking on the vehicle:

Method A: Using a 90-degree laser for Blind Spot Monitor calibration.

Method B: Using a 90-degree laser for Forward Recognition Camera and Front Millimeter Wave Radar calibration.

Method C: Using a string with weight for all systems.

Each method involves hanging a plumb bob from the vehicle’s front and rear emblems to mark the center points, and then using a laser or string to create a centerline that extends past the vehicle.
