Introduction to R-1234yf Refrigerant
FCA FIAT CHRYSLER AUTOMOBILES is introducing R-1234yf refrigerant to meet the 2016 EPA mandate for corporate fleet average <250 g/mile of CO2.
This refrigerant has a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of less than 150 and is developed by DuPont & Honeywell.
Benefits of R-1234yf
The use of R-1234yf provides credits for the manufacturer towards the CO2 requirement, including:
Direct Credits: R-1234yf alternative refrigerant (up to 15.8 g/mile of credit per vehicle) and refrigerant leak reduction on current refrigerant (up to 7.2 glmile of credit per vehicle).
Indirect Credits: System efficiency improvements (up to 5.7 g/mile of credit per vehicle).

The following vehicles will be equipped with R-1234yf AC refrigerant:
Alfa Romeo 4C, Chrysler 200 (UF), FIAT 500 & 500L (FFIBF), Chrysler 300 (LX), Ram 1500 (DS), Dodge Durango (WD), Jeep Grand Cherokee (WK), Dodge Challenger (LA), Jeep Wrangler (JK), Dodge Charger (LD), Jeep Cherokee (KL), Dodge Dart (PF)
