Connecting Rod Bearing Clearance
Measure the rod bearing clearance using Plastigage and refer to Engine Specifications for the clearance values.
Caution:
Do not reuse the rod bolts and do not use a torque wrench for tightening the second step.
Main Bearings
The main bearings have three upper and five lower possibilities, and the upper and lower bearing shells are not interchangeable. The lower main bearing identification is stamped on the crankshaft nose.
