Introduction
The demand for efficient vehicles with reduced fuel consumption and low emissions is growing rapidly. Electric vehicles (EVs) are being developed to satisfy these demands, but they have limitations such as short driving range and charge problems.
Background
This study discusses the background theories on different types of Hybrid Electrical vehicles (HEVs) and range extending technologies in HEVs, including cost, emissions, efficiency, vibration, and noise.
Objective
The main goal of this thesis is to develop a control strategy for range extended EVs and implement it in a vehicle model, using the 2014 BMW i3 Range Extender EV as a case study.
