Normal Engine Stop Running After Extended Idle
This vehicle is equipped with a feature that shuts off the engine after an extended idle period with the shifter in Park. This is a normal operating characteristic and no repairs are needed.
For 2014 models, the engine will shut off after 2.5 hours if the customer exits the vehicle with the fob or if the customer is sitting in the vehicle with the engine running and the fob is present.
For 2015-2016 models, the engine will shut off after 1 hour if the customer exits the vehicle with the fob or if the customer is sitting in the vehicle with the engine running and the fob is present.
For 2017 and newer models, this information can be found in the Owner’s Manual under “Driving and Operating” > “Driving Information” > “Regulated Extended Parking”.
