Important Safety Update
Kia Motors America is conducting a Product Improvement Campaign to update the Engine Control Unit (ECU) software on 2014-2016 Kia Soul vehicles with 2.0L Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) engines.
This update is designed to protect the engine from excessive connecting rod bearing damage and will be done free of charge.
What to Expect
The update will take approximately 1 hour and will also extend the warranty coverage for the engine sub-assembly to 10 years or 120,000 miles.
Owners are advised to contact their local Kia dealership to schedule a service appointment.
Important Safety Information
If the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) blinks continuously, the vehicle will be placed in a reduced power and acceleration mode (Limp Home Mode).
It is essential to have the vehicle inspected immediately to avoid severe engine damage.
