Powertrain Overview
The 2013 SRT Viper features a hand-assembled 8.4-litre all-aluminum V10 engine, producing 640 horsepower and 600 Ib.-ft. of torque.
The engine includes a new Ultra-high-flow, composite intake manifold, new forged pistons, new lightweight sodium-cooled exhaust valves, and an aluminum flywheel.
Transmission and Performance
The Viper is equipped with a Tremec TR6060 six-speed transmission, featuring tighter gear ratios and a revised shifter for improved driver involvement.
The final-drive ratio has been shortened to 3.55 for improved acceleration.
Electronic Stability Control and Launch Control
The Viper features an advanced multi-mode electronic stability control system and launch control as standard equipment.
This system dramatically broadens the Viper’s performance envelope for drivers at all skill levels.
