Vibrations in Steering Wheel
The customer may experience shimmy/rotational vibrations in the steering wheel at constant speed, various speeds, or when braking.
These vibrations can be felt in the seat surfaces, underbody, footwell, or pedals, and are more prevalent when braking or accelerating.
Cause: Flat Spots on Tires
Flat spots can develop on tires after a short stationary period, affecting the vehicle’s performance.
Radial force variation (RFV) causes vibrations in the vehicle, which can be amplified by braking.
Solution: Warm Balancing and Matching of Wheels
Check tires for damage and correct tire pressure.
Perform a test drive and then balance the wheels on a stationary balancing machine.
Ensure proper installation of wheels on the vehicle, with clean contact surfaces and correct centering.
