Introduction

The Tesla Roadster is an electric sports car produced from 2008 to 2012. It was the first production car from Tesla, founded by Elon Musk in 2003.

Design and Features

The Roadster was built on a Lotus Elise chassis and featured a lithium-ion battery pack, providing an estimated 244-mile range.

It had a 0-60 mph time of 3.7-3.9 seconds and a top speed of 125 mph.

Production and Upgrades

The first production Roadster was delivered in 2008, and regular production began in March of that year.

Major upgrades were introduced in 2010, including a push-button gear selector, carbon fiber and leather interior, and adjustable suspension.

The Roadster was discontinued in 2012, but owners could upgrade to the 3.0 model until 2020.
