Important Notice
The vehicle communication interface module (VCIM) has unique numbers tied to the vehicle identification number. Never exchange these parts with those of another vehicle.
Removal Procedure
Position the right rear seat bottom to cargo position, remove the protective cover, and disconnect electrical connectors to remove the VCIM.
Installation Procedure
Record the 10-digit STID number and 11-digit ESN number from the new module. Install the module, connect electrical connectors, and tighten thumb screws to a maximum of 0.2 Nm.
Reconfiguration
After replacing the VCIM, reconfigure the OnStar@ system to avoid additional customer visits for repair.
