Voluntary Safety Recall Campaign
Nissan is conducting a voluntary recall campaign on certain 2005-2009 Armada and Titan vehicles to address a potential fuel gauge inaccuracy.
The issue can cause the fuel gauge to show that the vehicle still has some fuel, typically about one quarter tank, when the fuel tank is actually empty.
Remedy
Nissan will replace the fuel level sending unit with a new one at no charge for parts or labor.
Dealers are responsible for checking Service Comm for campaign eligibility and correcting any affected vehicles in their inventory.
Service Procedure
The service procedure involves removing the fuel pump assembly, fuel gauge sender unit, and fuel temperature sensor, and installing a new fuel gauge sender unit.
Caution must be taken to avoid damaging wires or wire insulation during the procedure.
