Introduction
This manual is designed to assist with the installation of a car stereo system in a 2001 Hyundai Santa Fe. The manual provides instructions for removing the factory radio, as well as installing front and rear speakers.
Pre-Installation
Before starting the installation, it is recommended to disconnect the negative battery cable and follow proper safety precautions.
Radio Removal and Installation
To remove the factory radio, follow these steps: Remove ash tray and extract (2) Philips screws, pull off bottom dash bezel, disconnect and remove the (2) Extract (2) Phillips head screws along top of radio bezel, carefully unsnap dash bezel, disconnect and remove.
Front Door Speaker Installation
To install the front speakers, follow these steps: Remove screw cover cap on door opener cup, extract (1) Phillips head screw from behind and remove door cup trim bezel. Extract (1) Philips screw from door cup. Remove screw cover caps, and extract (3) Philips screws from outer perimeter of door panel. Remove door triangle, disconnect tweeter and pull away. Pull door panel out and up, disconnect and remove. Extract (4) Phillips head screws securing speaker; lift away; disconnect and remove.
Rear Speaker Installation
To install the rear speakers, follow these steps: Remove carpet, compartment covers, and center compartment. Extract (2) Philips screws, and remove rear door sill plate. Extract (3) 10mm tie down bolts and (3) 12mm tie down bolts from floor. Pull back weatherstripping; and pry out side panels using a Panel Removal Tool, disconnect and remove panel. Extract (4) Phillips head screws securing speaker; lift away; disconnect and remove.
