Introduction
This technical service bulletin provides information on the torque converter break-in feature and ATF +4 transmission fluid update for 2000 model year Town & Country, Caravan, and Voyager vehicles equipped with a 41TE transaxle.
Torque Converter Break-In
The break-in feature was implemented to eliminate early mileage shudder concerns and must be re-initialized if the Transmission Control Module (TCM) is replaced with less than 1500 torque converter break-in miles or the torque converter is replaced at any time.
ATF +4 Update
ATF +4 can be used as a replacement fluid in all 2000 model year vehicles, and the update procedure involves replacing the dipstick, labeling, and reprogramming the TCM using the DRB III scan tool and MDS2 system.
