The enclosed bulletin covers general information and specifications of the 1963 Chrysler 300J, including engine, carburetor, and adjustments, special intake manifold, ignition system, new rear springs, special blue streak tubeless tires, and other features exclusive to the 1963 Chrysler 300J vehicle.
Startling Model Designation and Engine Number
The starting engine number for the 1963 Chrysler 300J should be corrected to read as follows: TC-2 300J (Standard) 413 Cu: in. C-300J-8-27-62.
Bulletin Supplements
This bulletin supplements the Chrysler-Plymouth Service Bulletin No. 63-1, dated September 19, 1962, and should be attached to your Service Bulletin No. 63-1 for complete information.
Ignition Timing Change
Basic ignition timing was changed to 12-1/2 B.T.C in 1963 Chrysler 300J model engines to prevent objectionable detonation. This change must be made on any C-300J models in dealer inventory and on any C-300J model brought in for service.
