Important Safety Instructions
As with any appliance, safety is paramount. Ensure that no openings are blocked to maintain airflow, and only operate on stable surfaces. The appliance should not be used in damp, wet, or potentially explosive environments, and should be kept away from flammable substances.
Children must be supervised around the appliance to prevent play that could lead to damage or safety hazards. User maintenance, such as cleaning and filter changing, should be done only with the unit disconnected from the power supply. Furthermore, the device must not be used without the filter in place.
Keep in mind that the Shark Air Purifier has a polarized plug as a safety feature to prevent electric shock, which means it can only be inserted one way into an electrical outlet. Damaged power cords are a hazard and should be replaced immediately by qualified personnel.
Additionally, battery safety is crucial: Dispose of coin batteries according to local regulations and keep them away from children. If you suspect a battery has been ingested, seek medical help right away.
Setting Up Your Unit
Your air purifier works best with the correct setup. Position the front panel away from walls, ensuring it’s turned off and unplugged during movement. The vents should not be blocked, and nothing should be placed on the unit. Also, keep your air purifier in places without direct sunlight or moisture exposure.
Filter Installation
Operate your air purifier only with the provided Shark filters and accessories. To install the filter, remove it from its packing, then carefully place the air purifier upside down on a flat surface to access the filter door. Unlock, insert the filter, and once secured, position the purifier right-side up. It’s essential to ensure a minimum clearance of 3 inches from walls and objects.
Operating Your Appliance
Connect the air purifier to a power outlet and switch it on with the top control panel. On powering up, the device will assess and display air quality.
