This manual provides important safety messages to ensure safe installation and operation of the water heater.

Hydrogen gas can be produced in a hot water system served by this heater that has not been used for a long period of time (2 weeks or more). To reduce the risk of injury, open the hot water faucet for several minutes at the kitchen sink before using any electrical appliance connected to the hot water system.

Installation Requirements

The water heater should be installed in accordance with local code authority, power company, or electric utility, and this installation manual.

Site location should be near the center of the water piping system, indoors, and in a vertical position on a level surface.

A suitable metal drain pan should be installed under the water heater to protect the property from damage.

Water System Piping

Piping, fittings, and valves should be installed according to the installation drawing.

Water supply pressure should be around 50 to 60 psi and should not exceed 80 psi.

Always use a good grade of joint compound and ensure all fittings are drawn up tight.
