Safety Precautions
Important safety rules and precautions to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and personal injury when using electric tools.
CAUTION: When servicing, use only identical replacement parts. Replace or repair damaged cords.
Using Extension Cords
Use only round jacketed extension cords listed by Underwriters Laboratories (UL). Ensure the cord is suitable for outdoor use if necessary.
Operating the Jig Saw
Attach blades correctly, and use the convenient overhead handle to operate the saw. Hold the saw firmly against the workpiece while cutting.
CAUTION: When sawing into walls, floors, or wherever “live” electrical wires may be encountered, do not touch any metal parts of the tool.
Maintenance and Repair
Regularly inspect and maintain the tool, including lubricating bearings and cleaning the tool with mild soap and a damp cloth.
For thorough cleaning, inspection, and lubrication, take or send the tool to a Black & Decker Service Center once a year.
