Introduction

The Guardian RT System is a continuous glucose monitoring system that provides real-time glucose readings and alarms to help patients with diabetes avoid high and low blood sugar fluctuations.

System Components

The system consists of a glucose sensor, transmitter, monitor, docking station, and therapy management software.

The glucose sensor measures glucose levels in interstitial fluid and sends signals to the transmitter, which then sends the data to the monitor every 5 minutes.

The monitor displays glucose values and sounds an alarm or vibrates when glucose levels become too high or too low.

Features and Benefits

The system provides real-time glucose monitoring, trend reports, and charts to help patients and healthcare professionals assess and improve glucose control.

It can help patients quickly take action to reduce the severity and duration of hypoglycemic or hyperglycemic episodes, and discover how diet, exercise, medication, and lifestyle affect their glucose levels.
