Course Objectives
The course objectives include reviewing and updating charging systems, load shedding and RVC, diagnostic approach, and TSB’s, PI’s and case studies.
Charging System Review and Update
The charging system has evolved from a simple alternator relationship to a more complex system involving PCM, alternator, cluster, and sometimes a BCM relationship.
The system still uses stators and diodes to rectify AC current to DC, but IGBT technology is becoming more prominent.
The voltage regulator location and charging circuit are also reviewed.
