Introduction

This manual provides procedures for servicing vehicles converted to use refrigerant R134A.

Precautions

When handling R134A refrigerant, observe safety precautions such as wearing safety glasses and protective clothing, and ensuring suitable first aid equipment is available.

Procedure

When servicing the system, use only refrigerant R134A and ICI Emkarate RL 1005 oil. Replace any disturbed ‘0’ rings with those suitable for use with R134A. Follow specific procedures for replacing the VIR unit, assembly discharge hose, and compressor.
