HandsFreeLink (HFL) System Issue
The HFL system may not work, or the battery may be too low to start the engine due to an internal problem with the HFL control unit, causing a parasitic current draw of 250 mA.
Corrective Action
Replace the HFL control unit following the repair procedure outlined in the bulletin.
The procedure includes diagnosing the issue, checking fuses, measuring resistance, and replacing the HFL control unit if necessary.
Additionally, the vehicle’s battery should be checked and charged or replaced if needed.
