The YMF721 is a high-quality, low-cost Wavetable synthesizer LSI that integrates an OPL3 (FM synthesizer), General MIDI processor, and 1Mbyte Wavetable sample ROM into one chip.
It is suitable for multimedia applications, sound cards, MIDI synthesis modules, and other sound applications, and complies with General MIDI (GM) system level 1.
Key Features:
Generates up to 24 types of sounds simultaneously, with an interface compatible with MPU-401 UART mode.
Includes an OPL3 (FM synthesizer) for AdLib/Sound Blaster applications, and a 1Mbyte built-in Wavetable sample ROM.
Supports power management functions, including power down and suspend/resume, and operates at 3.3V or 5.0V.
Pin compatible with YMF70AC-S (100-pin SQFP) and has a silicone gate CMOS process.
