Recall Information
This recall affects certain 2023-2024 Kia Sportage and 2022-2024 Kia Carnival vehicles.
The recall is due to a defect in the roof molding, which may become loose or detach due to interference with excessive roof panel sealer or improper installation.
Risk and Cause
A detached roof molding can create a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.
The cause of the defect is interference with excessive roof panel sealer and/or improper installation during vehicle assembly.
Remedy
Kia dealers will inspect and secure/replace the roof molding(s) as necessary.
Owners will be notified by first-class mail and reimbursed for repair expenses already incurred.
