Overview
KEMET’s COG dielectric features a 125°C maximum operating temperature and is considered “stable.” It is suited for resonant circuit applications or those where Q and stability of capacitance characteristics are required.
Benefits
The COG dielectric exhibits no change in capacitance with respect to time and voltage, and boasts a negligible change in capacitance with reference to ambient temperature. It also offers a high thermal stability, high ripple current capability, and extremely low ESR and ESL.
Applications
Typical applications include critical timing, tuning, circuits requiring low loss, circuits with pulse, high current, decoupling, bypass, filtering, transient voltage suppression, blocking, and energy storage.
Electrical Parameters/Characteristics
The capacitors have an operating temperature range of -55°C to +125°C, with a capacitance change of +30 ppm/°C. They also have a high dielectric withstanding voltage (DWV) and low dissipation factor (DF).
