Introduction
This thermostat is compatible with most HVAC systems, including 24VAC systems, standard gas/oil/electric heating systems, heat pump systems, and 2-stage heating and cooling systems.
Installation Steps
Remove the old thermostat, turn off power, and mark the wires according to the terminal markings. Mount the new thermostat base, connect the wires, and check the connections.
Wiring diagrams for standard gas/electric HVAC systems and heat pump HVAC systems are provided on pages 4 and 5.
Important Notes
The thermostat requires both the 24VAC common wire ‘C’ and the 24VAC hot wire, ‘R’ to operate. If the C wire is not present, an external 24VAC transformer is required.
Take a picture of the old thermostat wiring terminals before disconnecting them for future reference.
