Service Bulletin Overview
This bulletin involves replacing the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) to address a slight engine mis-fire above 5200 rpm.
Affected Models
2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser, built prior to January 22, 2003 (MDH 0122xx) with a 2.4L Turbo engine and manual transmission, or prior to March 18, 2003 (MDH 0318xx) with a 2.4L Turbo engine and automatic transmission.
Symptom/Condition
Random or slight engine mis-fire when operating vehicle above 5200 rpm, with no DTC logged in the PCM.
Repair Procedure
Replace the PCM and perform the Powertrain Verification Test (VER-2).
Important: Verify the latest software revision level in the controller and DRBIII@ after replacing or reprogramming the PCM.
