Overview
This device combines four functions: Power-on Reset Control, Watchdog Timer, Supply Voltage Supervision, and Block Lock Protect Serial EEPROM in one package.
Key Features
Extended power-on reset (80Oms nominal), Selectable watchdog timer, Low Vcc detection and reset assertion, Five standard reset threshold voltages, and 16Kbits of EEPROM.
Operation
The device monitors the Vcc level and asserts RESET if the supply voltage falls below a preset minimum VTRIP. It also features a watchdog timer that monitors microprocessor activity and can be programmed to meet custom requirements.
Memory
The device contains a CMOS serial EEPROM array with block lock protection, featuring a Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) and software protocol allowing operation on a simple four-wire bus.
