Technical Service Bulletin

This bulletin addresses issues with rough idle, poor driveability, and MIL illumination due to EGR valve malfunction.

Symptoms and Conditions

Rough idle and poor driveability caused by EGR valve being in a partially open position or always closed.

MIL illuminated with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) S2E “EGR System Failure” and/or DTC $27 “Map Sensor Rationality” present with other two symptoms.

Diagnosis and Repair

Check wiring resistance and EGR valve actuation. Replace EGR valve and/or PCM if necessary.

Clear DTC’s and test EGR system with DRB Ille.
