Introduction
This guide is intended for healthcare professionals and the Zimmer Biomet sales force to assess patient suitability for the Oxford medial partial knee replacement.
Indications and Contraindications
The Oxford PKR is indicated for individuals with osteoarthritis or avascular necrosis limited to the medial compartment of the knee.
It is contraindicated for use in the lateral compartment, patients with ligament deficiency, and in cases with full thickness damage to the weight-bearing area of the lateral compartment.
Radiographic Assessment Criteria
The assessment involves evaluating five criteria:
- Medial bone-on-bone or bone loss
- Functionally intact ACL
- Full thickness lateral cartilage
- Functionally normal MCL (correctable intra-articular deformity)
- Acceptable patellofemoral joint
If all criteria are met, the patient may be suitable for the Oxford PKR.
