Trailer Towing Basics
For safe and enjoyable towing, it’s essential to understand the basics of trailer towing. This includes properly distributing the load, ensuring the trailer is securely attached, and being aware of the added weight and length of the trailer.
Trailer Towing Capacities
The maximum trailer towing capacities for the 2024 Ford Bronco vary depending on the engine, transmission, and axle ratio. The capacities range from 3,500 lbs to 4,500 lbs.
Towing Equipment and Preparation
Dealer-installed towing equipment is required for trailers over 2,000 lbs. The Trailer Tow Prep Package is included on all models, excluding the Raptor. The package includes a 7-wire harness and a 4-/7-pin connector.
Towing Safety Considerations
When towing, it’s crucial to consider the frontal area limitation, which affects the performance of the towing vehicle. The maximum trailer frontal area is 30 sq. ft. without dealer-installed towing equipment and 40 sq. ft. with the Raptor Tow Package.
Remember to always check your vehicle’s specific towing capabilities and to consult with your Ford dealer for additional information and guidance.
