Introduction

The Abbott Proclaim Neurostimulation System is designed to manage chronic, intractable pain of the trunk and/or limbs.

Indications for Use

The system is indicated for spinal cord stimulation and dorsal root ganglion stimulation to aid in the management of chronic pain.

Contraindications and Warnings

Contraindications include patients who are unable to operate the system, have failed to receive effective pain relief during trial stimulation, or are poor surgical risks. Warnings and precautions include diathermy therapy, implanted cardiac systems, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and explosive or flammable gases.

Important Features and Modes

The system has two modes: Surgery Mode and MRI Mode, which can be activated to reduce the possibility of negative device interaction during surgical procedures and MRI scans.

These modes can be activated directly from the Patient Controller, and it is important to turn them on before entering the procedure or MRI scan room to avoid unintended stimulation or damage to the neurostimulator.
