Introduction
The Aston Martin Vanquish has undergone an auto conversion, replacing the original ASM automated gearbox with a traditional automatic transmission.
Background
The Vanquish, first introduced with the ASM gearbox, has been refined over the years, but some customers have shown a preference for a more traditional automatic transmission.
The Conversion
Aston Workshop has developed a six-speed torque converter automatic gearbox, replacing the original Tremac T56 manual transmission.
The conversion, which costs £18,500 plus VAT, takes three days to complete and promises a more useable, accessible, and intuitive driving experience.
Performance
The automatic gearbox complements the original 5.9-litre 460bhp V12 engine, providing smooth and quick shifts.
The gearing is shorter than standard, with first, second, and third gears good for 40mph, 67mph, and 103mph respectively.
The conversion allows for a more effortless driving experience, particularly in urban environments.
