Overview
The S-8340/8341 Series by SII Semiconductor Corporation represents a family of CMOS step-up switching regulator controllers designed for portable devices. This series includes the S-8340 Series with a PWM control circuit and the S-8341 Series with a PWM/PFM switching control circuit.
Key Features
These devices offer an oscillation frequency of 300 kHz or 600 kHz (depending on the model type) and an adjustable output voltage from 2.5 to 6.0 V in 0.1 V steps. They achieve an output voltage accuracy of ±2.0% with the option for external setting using the FB terminal. The devices also feature a wide duty ratio range, up to 82% for PWM control and 21% to 82% for PWM/PFM control, depending on the type.
Notably, the S-8340/8341 Series supports low-voltage operation (guaranteed start at VoD = 0.9 V), integrates a current limit circuit adjustable via an external resistor, and includes a soft-start function programmable with an external capacitor. Another essential feature is the shutdown function for enhanced power management.
