Introduction and Specifications
The Series 3300 connectors are designed primarily for enhanced safety, featuring U.L. recognized and CSA certified pre-grounding plug and socket connectors. These connectors establish a ground connection before any other active contacts are mated, thanks to their extended grounding contact. This design eliminates the need to shorten contact lengths manually for safety, thus reducing installation costs and time.
Compatibility and Applications
Series 3300 connectors are compatible with Series 300 types, suitable for both chassis and cable mounting, and come in various styles with different hardware options and locking devices. Among their applications are office machines, communication equipment, security systems, machine controls, vending machines, medical equipment, amusement machines, test equipment, measuring instruments, data processing equipment, and teaching devices.
Electrical Rating
Each contact within the connectors is rated for 10 amps at 750 volts rms. When operating with currents and voltages above 250 volts AC or DC, the ratings adhere to the specifications of the electrical equipment in which the connectors are used, with consideration of the operating temperatures.
Installation and Mounting
Unique C-clips enable quick panel mounting, requiring no drilling or the use of screws, bolts, or rivets. The C-clips latch onto the connector’s body beside the molded face flange. Panel thickness must be specified at the time of order to ensure a proper fit. Three different sizes of hand tools for C-clip insertion are available to further expedite the installation process.
Contact Orientation and Polarization
Contact orientation is critical for proper connector use. A heavy-duty polarizing/ground contact is included in different positions depending on the model number, which ensures correct and secure connections across various applications. It is important to note that polarization arrangement numbers for sockets are depicted as viewed from the wiring side, with the plug numbering being opposite.
Product Listing
The datasheet lists a range of connectors within the 3300 series, identified by model numbers such as 3302, 3303, 3304, 3306, 3306-8, and 3308. Each model is tailored to specific contact arrangements to cater to a variety of electrical and electronic needs.
