icx-series---ic-socket-specifications.pdf

Overview

The datasheet provides detailed specifications for IC socket assemblies in the ICX series. It is intended for existing customers only and includes reference part numbers, minimum pushout forces, maximum allowable bow, plating options, contact force options, and specified lead styles.

Key Features

Minimum Pushout Forces

Different IC socket assemblies have varied minimum pushout forces: IC Assembly (12 lbs.), ICA Assembly (5 lbs.), ICE Assembly (10 lbs.), and ICO Assembly (5 lbs.). Additionally, the ICS Assembly requires a pushout force of 12 lbs.

Maximum Allowable Bow

The ICX series maintains a strict requirement for the bow, not exceeding .003 inches per inch.

Plating Specifications

Options include Gold/Gold (GG), Gold/Tin (GT), Tin/Tin (TT), Low Gold/Tin (ST), Extra Heavy Gold/Extra Heavy Gold (EE), Extra Heavy Gold/Gold (EG), Extra Heavy Gold/Tin (ET), Gold/Extra Heavy Gold (GE), and Tin/Extra Heavy Gold (TE). However, some options are unavailable for certain styles, and selections must be made according to Table 1 referenced in the datasheet.

Contact Force Options

There’s a low contact force option denoted by ‘Z’ available only for existing customers, while standard contact force options should be left unmarked.

Lead Style Specifications

Lead styles are specified according to Table 2 in the datasheet, with styles including Locking Lead (L), and others indicated in the suffix of the part number.

Material Specifications

Material descriptions provide the composition of key components such as the insulator made from UL-rated 94V-0 Polyester and contact material made from 1/4 hard BeCu. The shell is composed of 1/2 hard Brass. These details offer insights into the durability and compliance of the IC sockets.

Reference Part Numbers

The datasheet lists various part numbers for standard IC assemblies, each denoted by a unique suffix reflecting the assembly size and style (example: IC-310-XXX, IC-610-XXX, etc.).

Documentation Details

The document includes specifications developed by “Jordan” on October 29, 1986, and checked by “Farnoey” on November 10, 1986. It is marked as Sheet 1 indicating there are additional pages beyond the two analyzed.
