Overview

The ATC 700 A Series NPO Porcelain and Ceramic Multilayer Capacitors are designed for RF/Microwave applications, offering low Equivalent Series Resistance (ESR) and Inductance (ESL), with a Temperature Coefficient of Capacitance (TCC) near zero. These multilayer capacitors provide a broad capacitance range from 0.1 pF to 1000 pF and are enclosed in a rugged, hermetic package suited for varied electrical functions and circuit applications.

Performance and Quality

The capacitors deliver a high Quality Factor (Q), with values over 10,000 MegaOhms for capacitances between 0.1 pF to 100 pF and over 2,000 MegaOhms for 110 pF to 1000 pF at MHz frequencies. Featuring an impressive Insulation Resistance (IR), ranging from 10^6 MegaOhms minimum at +25°C to 10^4 MegaOhms minimum at +125°C, depending on capacitance values. They can withstand extended Working Voltage (WVDC) up to 250 VDC and Dielectric Withstanding Voltage (DWV) at 250% rated WVDC for 5 seconds.

Reliability and Durability

These capacitors are constructed to exceed standards set by EIA-198, MIL-PRF-55681, and MIL-PRF-123, ensuring reliability and performance under stress. The ATC 700 A Series stands up to environmental tests like Thermal Shock as per MIL-STD-202, Method 107, Condition A, and Moisture Resistance in accordance with MIL-STD-202, Method 106.

Stability

The series exhibits negligible Aging Effects and Piezoelectric Effects, ensuring stable performance throughout. Capacitance Drift is kept minimal, within ±(0.02% or 0.02 pF), and the components have no capacitance variation with voltage or pressure. Operating within a temperature range from -55°C to +125°C, without derating, they are also capable of enduring Low Voltage Humidity tests and a 2000-hour Life Test at 125°C, as defined by MIL-STD-202 Method 108.

Mechanical Details

Terminal Strength is a key aspect, and these capacitors’ terminations can withstand a pull of 5 lbs minimum to 10 lbs typically, for 5 seconds in a direction perpendicular to the termination surface.
