Description
The datasheet presents a high breaking capacity subminiature quick-acting fuse from SCHURTER, sized at 2.3 x 8 mm and rated for use at 125VAC or 125VDC. These fuses are specified to have a rated current range from 0.63 to 15A, with a breaking capacity of 300A. They are designed to function within an admissible ambient air temperature range from -55°C to 85°C and belong to the climatic category 55/085/56 according to IEC standards. The construction materials include a ceramic tube and tin-plated copper axial leads. Each unit weighs 0.46 grams.
Technical Data
The fuse exhibits characteristics of the Quick-Acting F type, suggesting that it responds rapidly to overcurrent conditions. The storage conditions recommend that the fuse should be kept between -55°C to 60°C with a maximum relative humidity of 70%. Product markings include the rated current for user reference.
Soldering Methods
The fuses can withstand wave soldering with a solderability of 235°C for 2 seconds in accordance with IEC 60068-2-20, Test Ta. Resistance to soldering heat is specified at 260°C for 5 seconds as per the same IEC standard, Test Tb. Additionally, they are resistant to vibration according to NF C 20-708 IEC 80068-2-6, test Fc as well as shocks (NF C 20-706 / IEC 80068-2-27), and salt mist (NFC20-711 / IEC 0068-2-11).
Approvals and Compliances
These fuses have garnered approvals from independent testing bodies following national and international standards. While suitable for industrial environments, they can also be tailored for specific sectors like automotive (IATF 16949), medical (ISO 13485), or aerospace, subject to individual agreements. The approval mark certifies adherence to electronic product safety requirements.
Product Standards
The product complies with UL 248-14 and CSA2Z.2 No 248.14 which relate to low voltage fuses, European standards, as well as supplemental fuses. Additionally, for application-specific standards, these fuses are designed in accordance with IEC/UL 62368-1 for audio/video, information, and communication technology equipment pertaining to safety requirements.
