Overview

The ATC 800 B Series are NPO Ceramic Multilayer Capacitors designed for high RF power applications. They exhibit ultra-low Equivalent Series Resistance (ESR) and benefit from a proprietary NPO dielectric material. These capacitors are mainly intended for VHF to microwave frequency ranges and are RoHS Compliant and Lead-Free, meeting and exceeding standards such as EIA-198, MIL-PRF-55681, and MIL-PRF-123.

Typical applications include VHF/UHF HDTV Broadcast Transmitters, Wireless Communications, Public Safety Radio, Avionics, Telecom, WiMAX, Microwave Communication Systems, and Satellite Systems. For circuit applications, they are ideal for High RF Power Filter Networks, Combiners, Couplers, Matching Networks, Output and Antenna Coupling, as well as DC Blocking and Bypassing.

Electrical and Mechanical Specifications

Noteworthy electrical specifications include a Quality Factor (Q) of 2000 at 1 MHz, a Temperature Coefficient of Capacitance (TCC) of ±0.30 PPM/°C, and Insulation Resistance (IR) minimums of 10⁵ Megohms at +25°C and 10⁴ Megohms at +125°C at rated working voltage DC (WVDC). The Working Voltage (WVDC) and Dielectric Withstanding Voltage (DWV) varies by capacitance value and is detailed in the Capacitance Values Table on page 2 of the datasheet. ATC 800 B Series Capacitors ensure no Aging Effects or Piezoelectric Effects, showcasing their stability and reliability under various conditions.

Environmental Performance and Quality Assurance

The capacitors’ environmental performance is shown by their ability to handle Thermal Shock as per MIL-STD-202 Method 107 Condition A, Moisture Resistance as per MIL-STD-202 Method 106, Low Voltage Humidity as per MIL-STD-202 Method 103 Condition A, and Life Test for 2000 hours at 125°C with 200% WVDC applied. Additionally, the terminal strength is robust, withstanding a pull of at least 5 lbs. for 5 seconds in a direction perpendicular to the termination surface of the capacitor.
