Ohmite Little Rebels Carbon Film Resistors

Ohmite Manufacturing Co. presents the Little Rebels line of carbon film resistors, designed for applications requiring stable low power consumption and dependable performance. The Little Rebels consist of a carbon film constructed on a high-grade ceramic body, offering improved stability compared to their carbon composition counterparts.

Specifications

The Little Rebels feature a core made from high-grade ceramic, with solder-coated copper terminals ensuring a solid electrical connection. With a 5% tolerance across the available ranges, these resistors are suitable for various electrical and electronic applications. They are available in E24 Ohmic values and are manufactured to have a stable temperature coefficient ranging from ±50 ppm/°C for the lower resistance values to -800 to ±1500 ppm/°C for the higher ones.

Derating and Voltage Rating

Derating of the resistors occurs linearly from 100% at +70°C to 0% at +155°C. The maximum overload voltage that the resistors can handle ranges from 400 volts to 1000 volts depending on the series wattage rating.

Physical Dimensions and Power Ratings

Little Rebels are designed with small physical sizes in mind, accommodating a variety of space-conscious applications. The dimensions vary with the power ratings, which are as follows:

0.125W resistors: 0.138 inches in length and 0.073 inches in diameter
0.250W resistors: 0.268 inches in length and 0.099 inches in diameter
0.500W resistors: 0.355 inches in length and 0.118 inches in diameter
1.00W resistors: 0.473 inches in length and 0.197 inches in diameter
2.00W resistors: 0.630 inches in length and 0.217 inches in diameter

The series wattage corresponds to allowable maximum working voltages from 200 volts up to 1000 volts.

Packaging and Part Numbers

The resistors are available in a Resistor Cabinet Assortment, which is detailed on page 34 of the datasheet. Reels are provided with set quantities per resistor value. Part numbers for standard resistance values coincide with their respective wattages and resistance values. For example, part numbers range from ‘4705’ for a 2,200Ω resistor in the 0G5 series to ‘4355’ for a 91,000Ω resistor in the 4.3 MEG series.
