Warnings and Cautions
WARNING: It is crucial that users read the entire user guide before operating the devices to understand proper usage and safety precautions. In the United States, Federal law mandates that these devices can only be sold following a physician’s order.
Indications for Use
The AirSense 10 AutoSet and AirSense 10 AutoSet for Her are self-adjusting machines tailored for OSA treatment. Specifically, the “AutoSet for Her” mode is designed with female patients experiencing mild to moderate OSA in mind. AirSense 10 Elite and AirSense 10 CPAP are also aimed at patients with OSA, but unlike their AutoSet counterparts, these devices provide continuous fixed pressure as the therapeutic intervention.
Contraindications
Although beneficial for many, positive airway pressure therapy may not be suitable for individuals with certain pre-existing medical conditions. These include severe bullous lung disease, pneumothorax, extremely low blood pressure, dehydration, cerebrospinal fluid leaks, or those who have recently undergone cranial surgery or suffered cranial trauma.
ResMed’s commitment to patient safety and care is evident in the detailed instructions and cautions provided in this user manual, ensuring optimal treatment efficacy and patient comfort.
