Situations Warranting Law Enforcement Interaction:
The Waymo vehicle can identify police or emergency vehicles and will yield to them. It can also unlock doors and roll down windows for Waymo’s Rider Support team to communicate with law enforcement.
Collision Response:
In the event of a collision, the Waymo vehicle will brake until it reaches a full stop and notify Waymo’s Fleet Response specialists, who may call 911 if necessary.
Waymo support team will be dispatched to provide on-scene support for passengers and first responders.
Disabling Autonomous Driving Mode:
Emergency responders can disable autonomous driving mode by contacting Waymo using a toll-free hotline or in-vehicle call with support personnel.
