Introduction to Spinal Cord Stimulation (SCS)
SCS is a proven, drug-free pain management therapy that interrupts your body’s own “pain signals” for long-term and often dramatic chronic pain relief.
Therapy Overview
Thin, flexible leads are placed along the spinal cord, and an implantable stimulator connected to the leads generates mild pulses that interrupt pain signals.
The Boston Scientific Spinal Cord Stimulator Systems are indicated for the management of chronic intractable pain in the trunk and/or limbs.
Important Safety Information
Certain patients should not use this device, including those who are unable to operate the system, have failed trial stimulation, or are poor surgical risks.
The system should not be exposed to certain environments, such as MRI, diathermy, or strong electromagnetic fields.
