Campaign 993 Overview
This campaign is in response to an increase in thefts of certain Hyundai vehicles not equipped with engine immobilizers, targeted through social media.
Eligible Vehicles
Certain 2015-2019MY Sonata, 2017-2020MY Elantra, 2020-2021MY Venue, and other models without a push button ignition are eligible for the free anti-theft software upgrade and window decal campaign.
Important Information
Once the upgrade procedure has been completed, the key fob buttons to lock and unlock the vehicle are required to activate/deactivate the anti-theft system.
Vehicles equipped with aftermarket or add-on alarm, or remote start may not operate normally if the BCM is upgraded with this software.
