Important Notice
The Vehicle Communication Interface Module (VCIM) has a unique set of numbers that tie the module to each vehicle. These numbers, the 10-digit station identification and the 11-digit electronic serial number, are used by the National Cellular Network and OnStar@ to identify the specific vehicle.
Removal and Installation Procedure
The manual provides step-by-step instructions for removing and installing the VCIM, including removing the rear compartment trim, electrical component mounting bracket, and GPS antenna cable. It also emphasizes the importance of reconfiguring the OnStar@ system after replacing the VCIM.
Failure to follow the instructions may result in damage to the GPS connector or setting a DTC.
